Terms of Service

Last updated: March 24, 2026

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using the Kisii University Innovation Week platform. By using our services, you agree to these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Kisii University Innovation Week platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with these terms, you must not use the website or any related services. These terms apply to visitors, attendees, exhibitors, voters, validators, administrators, and any other users of the platform.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide is accurate, current, and complete. If you create or use an account, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity conducted under that account. The university may suspend or restrict access where account use appears unauthorized, misleading, abusive, or in breach of these terms.

3. Permitted Use

You may use the platform only for lawful and authorized event-related purposes. You must not interfere with the platform, attempt to bypass security controls, scrape or harvest data without permission, impersonate another person, submit false registrations, share credentials improperly, misuse QR codes, or upload content that is unlawful, infringing, harmful, deceptive, or abusive.

4. Registrations, Voting, and Gate Access

Submitting a registration or exhibitor application does not guarantee admission, approval, award eligibility, or uninterrupted access to event services. Voting, validation, and gate-pass features are governed by event rules, session controls, and anti-abuse measures defined by the organizers. The university may reject, suspend, revoke, or review access where misuse, fraud, duplication, or rule violations are detected.

5. User Content and Submissions

You remain responsible for the content, files, innovation descriptions, and supporting materials you submit. By submitting content through the platform, you confirm that you have the necessary rights to do so and grant Kisii University a non-exclusive right to store, review, display, and use that content for event administration, judging, publicity, reporting, and archival purposes connected to Innovation Week.

6. Intellectual Property

Except for user-submitted materials, the platform, its design, branding, content, logos, and software components are owned by or licensed to Kisii University and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, republish, reverse engineer, redistribute, or exploit platform content beyond normal personal or event-participation use without prior written permission.

7. Availability and Changes

We may update, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of the platform or event workflow at any time, including schedules, registration windows, voting access, exhibitor review steps, and supporting features. We do not guarantee that the platform will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.

8. Disclaimers

The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Kisii University does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, complete accuracy of all user-submitted content, or that every feature will function without delay or technical limitation. We are not responsible for internet outages, email delivery failures, third-party service interruptions, or device-specific compatibility issues outside our reasonable control.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kisii University and the Innovation Week organizers are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, exemplary, or special damages arising from use of the platform or participation in the event. Where liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the amount of fees paid by you for the relevant service, if any.

10. Termination and Enforcement

We may suspend or terminate access, remove content, invalidate registrations, or take other administrative action if we reasonably believe you have violated these terms, event rules, security controls, or applicable law. Such action may be taken without prior notice where needed to protect the platform, event participants, or institutional systems.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Any disputes arising out of or related to the platform or these terms shall be subject to the applicable legal and institutional processes in Kenya. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

If you have questions about these Terms, please contact us. You may also review our Privacy Policy.
